Most crafting uses the vanilla workshops, but new recipes may use one of these three.
Manufacturing blocks are modular factories used for most day-to-day crafting tasks which require advanced machinery or sophisticated techniques. Newer methods of using resources can typically be found in the options of these devices.
The incubator is used to create N-technology and breed N-matter itself. N-matter cannot be created from nothing. It must be fed the right resources so it can reproduce. The incubator creates the optimal conditions for reproduction and reprogramming into useful technologies.
The evolution chamber creates N-matter cores and upgrades which can be consumed to obtain a stronger body or learn a skill. Raw N-matter is used to create empty containers, which can be stored indefinitely, before being filled by a technique, at which point it may be consumed, but will eventually expire, wasting the invested resources if not consumed.
The best way to ensure an item is consumed is to have the intended recipient enter the room with the chamber to craft the desired consumable, and then lock them in the room until they eat it.
Wanderers in the Long Night can make use of a robust crafting system to unlock new abilities and create new items, based around these four tools: Multitool- Basic crafting devices found everywhere, capable of most simple or small-scale manufacturing. Mass Printer- These take in matter and turn it into useful tools, weapons, and armor. Refinery- This deals with manufacturing N-matter on a local scale and turning it into N-technology, or swapping the traits of N-technology. Synthesizer- These are used for creating complex compounds like medicines and drugs.
